This project centered on book design, planning, and typesetting. The objective was to design a book that embodies the narrative of architect Peter Zumthor’s text through carefully crafted typography and self-generated imagery.
Deliverables:
•A final bound book
•A research PDF demonstrating design, development, and exploration
Specifications:
-Minimum 32 pages + 4 pages for cover and dust jacket
-Binding: Perfect bound or Japanese stab bind
-Color Scheme: Two colors for the cover and dust jacket; black only for the inside pages
Project Insight:
This design captures the essence of Zumthor’s narrative, merging text and imagery to create a cohesive and immersive reading experience whilst making use of white space. The research PDF provided a detailed journey from initial concepts to final execution, highlighting the thorough design process.
